Seven years building for the web, mainly on the frontend. Today I am exploring backend and AI while completing my Computer Science degree.
Explore my journeyI’m Alessio, based in Palermo, and I have been developing software for about seven years. Frontend is where my experience is strongest; today I am bringing the same care to backend development and AI.
I am completing my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the University of Catania. After years of professional work, I chose to put study back at the centre: I do not want to simply use tools—I want to understand the systems I build.
My experience on LinkedInI started with an internship, grew across frontend and full-stack development, and went on to coordinate people and projects.

My first frontend development role, following a 300-hour Angular course by the Etna HiTech consortium.
In 2026 I paused professional work to complete my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and prepare for a Master’s in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
University is not another line to add to my résumé. It is how I give stronger foundations to the experience I already have and open new paths into backend development and AI.
I study in short, focused sessions, answer without hints and write the code myself. Mistakes show me where to return: I revisit an idea until I can explain it in my own words and use it confidently.
While preparing for Physics, I discovered how much I enjoy going deeper: remembering a step is not enough—I want to know why it works and which assumptions make it valid.
I bring the same attitude to software: ask questions, check assumptions and never stop at the first solution that merely seems to work.
I want to move confidently across interfaces, server logic, data and AI features. That is why I am strengthening my backend knowledge and the theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence, while staying connected to real problems.
I also use AI while studying: I compare reasoning, ask for feedback and test whether what I think I understand actually holds up.
My main area of expertise: designing and developing interfaces and applications for the web.
Responsive layouts, attention to detail and interfaces designed to work for as many people as possible.
I have also worked with reactive programming and backend technologies.
I am consolidating server-side development through practical projects, conceptual study and extensive experimentation.
Alongside university, I have taken focused courses over the years to deepen the tools I use and move closer to the ones I want to understand better.
